Hit Player

IPTV player with a TV guide (EPG)

EPG stands for Electronic Program Guide — the TV guide that shows what's on now and what's coming next on each channel. Hit Player shows the EPG from your IPTV provider right next to your live channels.

How EPG works in an IPTV player

Providers publish programme data in a format called XMLTV. Each channel in your playlist is linked to that data by an ID. Hit Player downloads the guide and shows the current and upcoming programmes for each channel.

What you see in Hit Player

With a working EPG, live TV looks and feels like regular television:

  • What's on now and next for each live channel
  • Programme titles and start times
  • Guide data that refreshes together with your playlist

Why is my EPG empty or wrong?

The guide comes from your provider, so most EPG problems are fixed on their side:

  • Your provider doesn't include guide data for that channel.
  • The channel's EPG ID doesn't match the guide — ask your provider to fix the mapping.
  • The guide hasn't refreshed yet — refresh your playlist under Accounts.
  • Times look shifted — check the time zone setting on your TV.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hit Player include its own TV guide?

No. Hit Player shows the EPG that comes with your provider's playlist. If your provider doesn't supply guide data, there's nothing to show.

Can I use EPG with an M3U playlist?

Yes, as long as your provider includes an EPG link with the playlist.

A player, not a provider
